Redesign

I’m in the middle of a major re-design, so bear with me. While I’m getting Noumenal Net in order, why not head over to the Noumenal forums and check out the conversation?  Noumenal net will be up and running by this afternoon. Pay no attention to how it looks now.
And authors, you may have [...]

Tarot: Game or Divination?

I ran across this little announcement today in the Poughkeepsie Journal, about a class being taught in the East Fishkill Public Library called, “Brush up on your Tarot Skills”.

CD Review: PoesBoes - Tahitimas

It took me several hours after receipt of Tahitimas by Poesboes before I realised that the back cover is… uh… mine. It is, of course, just like me to take so long to figure something like that out. I was pleased to see it though - its an old Noumenal.Net logo, one that I always [...]

Review: The Lunatic Tarot

The Lunatic Tarot by Evan Yi Feng comes in two editions: a large portfolio edition (about 5×10), which lacks borders or titles - the corresponding Rider-Waite card is pictured on the back - and a smaller edition which is set up more like a standard tarot deck.

The Best Tarot Pouches

Those mass-produced velveteen bags just won’t do - not for my tarot cards. Nor for my runes, stones, and other magickal goodies. Scent is a powerful mnemonic, capable of evoking strong memories of events from our past. [...]

Book Review: Futhark, A Handbook of Rune Magic by Edred Thorsson

I’ve been reading Tarot for over twenty-five years, but my experience with runes is just a few years old. I resisted exploration of the runes for a long time, even during the 80s when those cheap rune sets seemed to be the fashionable accessory for every would-be witch.
But it was inevitable that I eventually [...]

I Love a Good Apocalypse. This Ain’t It

Book Review: The 100th Human - by Chris Fenwick

I love a good apocalypse. Some people like their literature with a nice code, but give me an apocalyptic novel anyday. .And the apocalypse doesn’t have to be Christian in nature, though the Book [...]

In the Shadow of Suribachi by Joyce Faulkner

Take every cliche from every war movie you’ve ever seen. The blood-covered wounded guy who screams, “Kill me!” The stony faced sergeant who looks out over the battlefield and says, “War is Hell.” The men who find the corpse of an enemy and gasp, “He looks like us”.
Now add every stereotype of every U.S. soldier [...]
