You run one of the city’s oldest witchcraft shops. Enchantments sells potion ingredients, incense, Wiccan books and carved candles for ready-made spells. How long have you practiced the art?

My whole life. My great-grandmother was apparently believed to be some sort of a witch. I was born on her birthday, so my grandmother was always like, “You’ve inherited her gifts.” So there was a lot of support there.

Who are the customers for your spell-inducing ingredients?

It ranges from people who have been practicing for years to people who are curious, to people who have decided I want to do something to help myself.
